YMCA of Montclair

Volunteer with the YMCA of Montclair's Homework Tutoring Program, Dedicated homework tutors assist Y members in grades 6-10 to succeed academically while inspiring them to reach their full potential. Tutors will provide additional academic support in the subjects of math, science, English, Spanish and history. Tutors must be 16+ (at least a Jr in HS), creative, patient and adaptable. Tutoring takes place at our Park Street location on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30pm-6pm For the safety of all, volunteers must do the following (please read through this carefully before starting the volunteer application process): -Sign a liability waiver -Sign a photo/video release -Sign a Code of Conduct -Provide three references -Conduct a brief (20 min) in-person child abuse prevention training course -Participate in a virtual (Zoom) interview -Authorize a background check (adults over 18 only) Links to start the credentialing process will be provided when you “click” the VOLUNTEER and LEARN MORE buttons.
